I'm Not Dead (yet)

Jimbob's been fairly busy, despite Diogenes' opinion. I've been working hard at work, and at school, and with a basement remodel, and other projects.

My penance has been with mixed results; as sincerely penitent as I can be, I am still too self-indulgent in many respects. Pray for me. During Mass this morning, the priest exhorted us to not be disheartened by our failures, but to remain hopeful in Christ's mercy.

itaque qui se existimat stare videat ne cadat

We adore You, O Christ, and we praise You, because, by Your holy cross, You have redeemed the world.

St. Jimbob, you are not alone in the struggle for holiness this Lent. Thank God for the sacraments of reconciliation and the Eucharist to help us along. I will pray for you and please do the same for me.
God bless

Hang it all, I want to learn Latin. I wish I had the time.

We miss ya, Jimbob, but hopefully you'll be back when Lent is over! :-)

How come you get to inflict your Lenten penance on the rest of us, huh? No Jimbob for 40 days?! ;-)

Have to say, Jimbob, it has been a long, dry Lent without your postings.

BTW, over at the Digi Hairshirt, Mr. Oatney posted a few more thoughts on traditional Catholic churches in the Knoxville area, I don't know if you have seen them. Would like to hear more about the possibility of you settling on Rocky Top.
